About the Position

Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Central Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.

Highlights:

• Float Pool position rotating among various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Med-Surg, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother-Baby
• Work with a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV Teams, Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
• Epic charting system experience required
• 60 hours of orientation provided
• Up to 40 hours of time off available (no RTO permitted during first 2 weeks of assignment)
• Opportunity to work with diverse patient populations from neonates through adolescents across multiple specialty areas

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience required
• NICU experience required; must be comfortable floating to pediatric units
• Previous NICU/PICU Float Pool experience highly preferred
• Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
• Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS
• Dr. Browns Infant-Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with certification pending; cost is $185)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• BSN preferred
• Nursys verification required with submission
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
