Overview The Ocean Stewardship Program is a well-established marine conservation initiative based on the picturesque Koh Rong archipelago of southwest Cambodia. The program focuses on empowering local coastal communities while preserving one of the region’s most pristine marine ecosystems. Location & Logistics Location: Koh Rong, Cambodia. Duration: Minimum 4 weeks. Cost: From $2550 USD for 4 weeks (includes all food, accommodation, pre‑departure and in‑country support, orientation, and project‑related activities. Responsibilities Collect and analyze critical marine survey data supporting the management of Cambodia’s first Marine National Park, an internationally recognized marine reserve. Assist in the implementation of artificial reef initiatives, environmental education programs for youth, and solid waste management systems across the archipelago. Participate in science‑based monitoring activities, field research, and community outreach to promote long‑term environmental preservation. Support local community empowerment projects that enable residents to thrive alongside natural resources. Qualifications Current student or recent graduate in marine biology, environmental conservation, ecological science, or a related field. Strong interest in marine ecology and sustainability. Ability to work effectively in a field setting, with limited amenities. Good communication skills, preferably in English; knowledge of Khmer is a plus.
