Job Details Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908 Specialty: Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool / Pediatric RN / Travel Nurse Setting: Pediatric float pool covering multiple inpatient and specialty areas Shift: 12-hour night shifts Hours: 36 hours per week Assignment Length: 16 weeks Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020-$2,130 Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed Float Areas: PICU, NICU, Pediatric ED, Acute Pediatrics, and occasionally L&D and Mother/Baby Start Date: 09/14/2026 Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; Virginia license pending accepted if active by the required start timeline Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience required Comfortable caring for pediatric, neonatal, and acute care patients Experience in NICU and Pediatric ED settings strongly preferred Epic charting experience required Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS Ability to obtain and maintain required infant feeding certification if needed Must be comfortable floating within scope of practice Travel nursing experience required Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork skills Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric and neonatal patients across multiple units Support critically ill children in PICU and NICU environments Assist with patient care in Pediatric ED boarder areas, Acute Pediatrics, and other float assignments as needed Deliver safe, compassionate care while responding to changing patient needs and acuity levels Perform assessments, monitoring, documentation, and interventions in Epic Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary care teams Follow unit policies, float expectations, and scheduling requirements throughout the assignment Maintain a professional, flexible approach in a fast-paced pediatric environment Apply now to take the next step in your pediatric nursing career with this travel RN job in Charlottesville, Virginia.
