Professional Support Services Specialist

Overview The City of West Hollywood is seeking a resourceful, dynamic, and customer-oriented Professional Support Services Specialist to join the Administrative Services Department - Human Resources Division. In this role, you’ll provide flexible, high-quality administrative support across City departments and divisions – stepping in on special projects, short-term assignments, and organizational needs as they arise. Your assignments will be coordinated by the Human Resources Division, but you’ll work under the direction of other lead staff, managers, and executive-level positions to keep things running smoothly wherever you’re needed most. Responsibilities Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary by assignment, but may include: Front desk and public-facing customer service Contract administration, invoice and purchase order processing, check requests Administrative and project support across City divisions and departments Serving as a liaison or secretary to boards, task forces, and/or commissions Ideal Candidate You’re organized, adaptable, and thrive when priorities shift. Specifically, you: Have experience in front desk, counter, or public-facing roles Have experience with mail processing and delivery coordination Have experience processing a variety of financial transactions, such as invoices, purchase orders, and check requests Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers in both verbal and written formats Exercise sound judgment and discretion in a variety of situations Are proactive, responsive, and punctual Can hit the ground running in new environments, picking up processes and expectations quickly – sometimes with minimal direction Work Arrangement This position requires 100% onsite work and is not eligible for telework or a hybrid work schedule. A 9/80 work schedule is available. Based on assignment, overtime opportunities may be available for after-hours administrative/project support.
