Mail Order Certified Pharmacy Technician in Clearwater, FL

This opportunity seeks skilled Pharmacy Technicians with retail pharmacy experience to support a dynamic pharmacy team in Clearwater, FL. The role is contract-based for 13 weeks, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Candidates should be tech-savvy, comfortable with Microsoft Office applications, and confident in making phone calls to patients and care providers.

Responsibilities:

• Process prescription orders, manage insurance claims, and resolve rejections efficiently
• Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification
• Perform accurate data entry and manage prescription documentation
• Communicate clearly with patients, prescribers, and internal teams
• Maintain inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration checks
• Assist in managing returns, medication quarantines, and disposal procedures
• Cross-train in various pharmacy functions to support departmental operations
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; confirm highest education level during candidate screening
• Current PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably with retail pharmacy exposure (call center experience a plus)
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills
• Effective communication skills for interaction with patients and healthcare providers
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and comfortable initiating professional phone communications
