Location: Chicago (Hybrid)

We’re seeking an experienced Employment Defense Attorney to join a highly regarded law firm with a Labor & Employment practice. This is a hybrid opportunity offering the chance to handle complex employment litigation matters while collaborating with a seasoned and dynamic team. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys representing employers, managing cases from inception through resolution, and working on high-stakes employment disputes.

Role Expectations:

• Handle a broad range of employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour disputes
• Represent employers in class action and related employment matters under federal and state laws
• Manage matters from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, and conducting all forms of discovery
• Participate in depositions, mediations, and trial preparation while developing litigation strategy in collaboration with clients and colleagues
• Provide practical legal counsel to clients on employment-related issues and risk management

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Bars of the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois
• 4+ years of employment litigation experience
• Strong experience handling matters from inception through resolution, including motion practice and discovery
• Experience with wage and hour matters and class actions is highly preferred
• Jury trial experience is a plus, but not required
• Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $175,000 – $250,000 base. Factors that may affect compensation include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
