Position Summary A Brief Overview Title: CT Tech II Site(s): Free-standing Emergency Department at Crossroads Location: St Petersburg FL Status: Full-Time Shift: Nights Schedule: 3 12s, Thurs/Fri/Sat 6:30pm-7am Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

What You Will Do

Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality. Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives. Assesses the patient's physical condition and age specific needs. Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results. Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented. Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation. Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated. Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others. Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks. Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors. Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies. Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases. Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists. Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. Ensures the safety of all customers. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements. Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment. Maintains well-stocked and organized work areas. Provides patient transport.

Qualifications

Graduate of either: An accredited school of Radiologic Technology; or An approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology. Mandatory minimum of two (2) years' CT experience Experience in one or more of the following areas: Advanced imaging experience and proficiency, including 3D Lab or IR imaging, or Cardiac imaging. Site proctor/preceptor for onboarding new hires and cross-training. Dual imaging roles, with current proficiency and routinely performing in secondary modality. Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida. Current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. Additionally, must meet one of the following criteria: Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT); or Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CT); or Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CNMT) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Certification (CT).

Orlando Health Emergency Room at Crossroads is a service of Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital. We provide expert emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, close to home for residents and visitors throughout the area. Staffed around the clock by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and highly trained clinical teams, the freestanding ER offers comprehensive emergency, laboratory, and radiology services, including CT, X-ray, and ultrasound, within a modern state-of-the-art facility. Featuring 10 fully equipped treatment rooms and an additional Fast Track area, the ER is designed to deliver efficient, high-quality care for a wide range of medical emergencies. If a patient requires admission or a higher level of care, seamless transfer is available to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, including rapid air transport through Orlando Health's onsite aeromedical resources when clinically appropriate.
