Essential Functions Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide or arrange appropriate care for patients as per nursing scope. Appropriately documents all patient care in the medical record. Participates in telephone triage, obtaining clinical data, advising patients per protocols. Tracks and logs all ordered lab and diagnostic tests and presents results to provider. Pre‑visit planning with provider and care team. Administers medication, including injections. Obtains vital signs, height, weight. Assists in reviewing medication history and updating medication list. Supports health maintenance requirements as needed. Assists providers during procedures and examinations, performing instrument and room clean‑up. Utilizes standard precautions and complies with OSHA, CLIA, TJC, DFS, and other regulatory standards. Reports patient condition and reaction to provider after procedures, medication administration, or treatments. Assists with prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization as needed. Participates in electronic documentation of care directed by provider. May enter orders in EMR per provider instruction. Completes CLIA‑approved waived lab tests and practice‑specific diagnostic testing, including point‑of‑care HbA1c tests, adherence to CLIA standards, performing quality control and maintenance for point‑of‑care in‑office lab procedures. Performs venipuncture and may assist with specimen collection of blood and urine for laboratory testing, completing lab requisitions and preparing specimens for pick‑up. Provides discharge summary and review at end of visit. Responsible for all vaccine and pharmaceutical orders, monitoring inventory, and complying with state immunization and health‑department regulations. Physical Requirements Must walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, bend, stoop, push, and pull consistently. Must lift up to 35 lbs when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Possible exposure to communicable diseases. Must speak, read, and write basic English fluently. Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Manual finger dexterity. Education, Experience, and Certifications Licensed Practical Nurse with current license in applicable state. Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing. Previous medical office experience preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Must be fluent in basic English (speaking, reading, writing). Ability to work in an office setting.
