Licensing Registration Examiner

This position is located at the Tracy Field Office in Tracy.

Under general direction of the Administrative DMV Manager in a Grade II field office, with minimal day-to-day supervision, the Licensing-Registration Examiner performs the most difficult and sensitive work in an environment which routinely requires a calm, courteous, and tactful approach in providing customer service. The incumbent interacts respectfully and effectively with supervisors, peers, other departmental employees, and supporting agencies, contributing to the overall efficiency of the office. The amount of time performing certain tasks may vary based on the needs of the office.

The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment. Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.

Working Conditions


This position is Intermittent. Scheduled work hours will vary and subject to a maximum of 1500 hours per fiscal year. The 1500-hour maximum may be exceeded subject to approval due to changes in workload.

Work outside in varying temperature. Work week may vary. Saturday and/or extended work hours may be required. Position may require rotation through neighboring field offices.
