Registered Nurse, Emergency Department Supervisor - Nights

Overview Support daily operations and patient care initiatives by partnering with nursing leadership to promote quality, safety, and exceptional patient experiences. This role serves as a resource and mentor for staff, helps coordinate unit operations and performance improvement efforts, supports staff development and scheduling, and collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Schedule: 40 hours per week Shift: Nights Location: Javon Bea Hospital—Riverside, Rockford, IL Pay Range: $87,370.23 - $139,792.38 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strong problem‑solving abilities in complex situations. Work within the budget and productivity targets to meet organizational objectives. Participate in and support staff selection, evaluation, orientation, continuing education, competency evaluation, and scheduling based on patient acuity. Partner with the Manager/Clinical Leader to ensure staff knowledge, skills, and behaviors align with unit goals. Build outstanding relationships and maintain strong physician relationships. Patient‑focused with a commitment to delivering the highest levels of quality, safety, and customer service. Accountable for achieving patient satisfaction (PressGaney and HCAHPS) action plans to meet targets. Support process improvement in operations, quality, and organizational change. Apply knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards. Communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals and groups through compassion, creativity, and consistent visibility. Participate in hospital and department committees. Demonstrate ability in developing and mentoring staff and colleagues. Lead by example, consistently demonstrating highly professional behavior. Show personal and professional accountability and hold others to the same standard. Exhibit a passion for nursing and serve as a role model and coach for Critical Moments of Service Standards and service recovery. Participate in departmental or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance. Utilize critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command. Support the professional nurse continuum and nursing clinical ladder for RNs (CARE). Education and/or Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred. Certification/Licensure Licensed as an RN in the state of practice. Approved CPR certification required within 90 days. Other certifications per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP. Other Skills and Abilities May include color blindness test per department guidelines. Level of Supervision Performs job duties with general supervision.
