Assistant Fitness Manager

Core Purpose To create loyal, lifelong fans and exercise practitioners. Position Purpose Build and lead a cohesive Personal Training team, ensuring they have a healthy pipeline of clients and that those clients and other members receive an exceptional fitness experience. Responsibilities Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising Personal Trainers. Managing the payroll process for personal trainers to ensure timely and accurate payment. Ensuring daily sales targets are met, particularly during weekends or when the General Manager is absent. Driving month‑over‑month sales targets, membership growth, and exceeding set goals for new personal training agreements, client retention, and overall revenue. Communicating goals, expectations, and procedures to department leaders and staff. Ensuring all fitness staff hold valid certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and personal trainer credentials. Providing constructive feedback to personal trainers, highlighting strengths and improvement areas. Ensuring high‑quality customer service by addressing member concerns, managing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly. Conducting personalized welcome workouts for new members to assess fitness needs and goals. Guiding new members through their initial club experience, fostering a supportive environment that promotes personal training sales, retention, and engagement. Supervising facility maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, locker rooms, and common areas. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining certifications, and implementing safety protocols. Qualifications 2 years of management experience; fitness or personal training management preferred. 2–3 years of customer service experience. 1 year of sales experience. 1 year of supervisory experience. Personal training sales experience highly preferred. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent relationship building and influencing skills across all levels. A systematic, detail‑oriented problem‑solving approach with strong time management and organizational skills. Successful completion of a background check. Valid personal training certification. CPR certification required within 30 days of hire. Physical ability to lift more than 40 lbs and bend/repetitively work in a gym setting. Competence with company computer systems for document preparation, data entry, and email communication. Eligible for Additional Compensation Variable income opportunities, including commission and bonus. Salary
