A healthcare facility near Humble, TX, is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)/Staff Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care and ensure effective pharmacy operations. This critical role involves overseeing medication management, supporting staff, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements in a busy psych specialty setting.
Location: Humble, TX (facility address available upon hiring)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Potential weekend coverage (8:00 AM – 2:30 PM) if per diem staff unavailable
- On-call coverage may be required to ensure continuous pharmacy support
Contract Duration: 8 to 12 weeks, starting ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, taking responsibility for pharmacy operations and compliance
- Manage staffing needs to ensure consistent pharmacy coverage
- Utilize HCS order entry system (training provided)
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and PRN pharmacists to maintain efficient workflow
- Support psych specialty medication management and safety initiatives
- Provide on-call support to address coverage gaps as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Texas Pharmacist license required
- Previous experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager preferred
- Strong knowledge of psych specialty pharmacy operations is advantageous
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
