Job Overview Electro/Mechanical Technician – Andersen Corporation. Join a team of over 13,000 professionals delivering exceptional experiences across the window and door industry. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing production equipment, ensuring electrical safety, and driving continuous improvement. Sign‑On Bonus $3,000 sign‑on bonus earned in two installments of $1,500 after 30 and 60 days. Primary Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical functions, mechanical drive units, industrial hydraulics, pneumatic systems, and plumbing architectures. Repair PLCs, ladder diagrams, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor controls, servo controllers, and safety circuits (E‑stops, light curtains, floor mats, safety relays). Work with touch‑screen controls and machine‑operation software (including G‑code & M‑code programming) to upgrade and troubleshoot machine functions. Use hand tools, machine‑shop equipment, and test instruments for multi‑trade repairs on production equipment, dust collection, and material‑handling equipment. Evaluate equipment for repairs, enhancements, or upgrades and complete work accordingly. Perform preventative maintenance, document work, and order parts to keep inventory stocked. Implement machine setups, rigging, leveling, and facility systems (air, hydraulics, dust collection, safety) and conduct testing to prepare machines for production. Fabricate and install fixturing, guarding, and machine parts (design, layout, sheet‑metal, welding, carpentry, painting). Assist in TPM objectives, repair of pneumatic drills, screw guns, routers, saw motors, and bearing assemblies. Qualifications and Skills Minimum 5years experience in PLC and electromechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical problem‑solving ability. Capacity to troubleshoot under pressure and prioritize repairs on production lines. Ability to read mechanical, fluid power, electrical, and building drawings. Proficiency with testing equipment for electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems. Self‑motivation to support production independently while working effectively in a team. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Broad knowledge of PLCs, electrical principles, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, machine piping, HVAC, and dust‑collection systems. Hands‑on experience with hand, power, and shop tools; panel building and machine‑building practices. Understanding of lockout/tagout and PPE safety practices. Two‑year degree or equivalent. Familiarity with panel building and machine‑building techniques. Physical Requirements Occasional heavy lifting (up to 55lb for single lifts, up to 58lb force push/pull). Repetitive fine‑manipulation tasks; ability to perform grasping and fine manipulation with both hands. Work in confined spaces, on ladders, platforms, and near energized circuits; requirement to use PPE. Ability to squat, crawl, kneel, and balance; occasional exposure to chemicals and hazardous waste.
