Civil Construction Site Manager

Job Description

• Oversees daily on-site operations for civil construction projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, and earthworks.
• Ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations.
• Coordinates and supervises field crews, subcontractors, and equipment usage.
• Monitors project progress, identifies delays or risks, and implements corrective actions.
• Enforces safety protocols and conducts regular site inspections to maintain compliance.
• Communicates with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients to report status updates.
• Reviews drawings, schedules, and work plans to ensure proper execution in the field.
• Manages materials, resources, and logistics to prevent shortages or downtime.
• Resolves on-site issues, including technical challenges and workforce conflicts.
• Maintains accurate site records, reports, and documentation for project tracking and compliance.

The Successful Applicant

• Proven experience managing civil construction projects (roads, utilities, earthworks, or infrastructure) from start to finish.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate crews, subcontractors, and stakeholders effectively.
• Deep understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
• Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, especially in fast-paced, on-site environments.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with engineers, clients, inspectors, and project managers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical specifications accurately.
• Proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing solutions before issues escalate.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing OSHA or relevant safety standards.
