Nuuly Services Software Engineer

Salary: $90,000 - 116,000 per year Requirements:

• We want someone with 4 or more years of server-side development experience and a track record of meaningful team contributions.
• We look for familiarity with one or more object-oriented server-side programming languages.
• You should be comfortable discussing streaming data, distributed system design, and the tradeoffs between messaging technologies and patterns at a basic level.
• We value experience and enthusiasm for testing and test-driven development.
• You should be able to get up to speed quickly on an existing codebase and toolset.
• We need someone who can propose solutions and participate in informal technical leadership discussions.
• Experience with streaming or asynchronous data processing is preferred.
• Experience working with major cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure is preferred.
• Experience with web service standards and related technologies such as JSON, and REST is preferred.
• Operational knowledge of Java, Kotlin, Scala, or another JVM language is preferred.
• Experience with a mainstream distributed system such as Kafka, Spark, Storm, or Cassandra is preferred.

• We participate in discussions and decisions around new features and platform enhancements.
• We collaborate with the product team to design solutions for stakeholder needs.
• We deliver the full lifecycle of deployable features, including code, configuration, documentation, and support.
• We contribute to roadmaps and process improvements that help us ship features and evolve our architecture.
• We work with QA and Platform Engineering to test our code and keep integrated testing environments running smoothly.
• We help lead design conversations, requirements refinement, cross-team communication, and mentoring.
