Role Description The Tax Compliance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with applicable regulations. The Tax Compliance Manager will interpret tax laws and regulations, provide guidance to internal stakeholders, and manage responses to tax notices and inquiries from authorities. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing complex transactions for tax implications, maintaining documentation and workpapers, monitoring legislative changes, and implementing process improvements in tax reporting and compliance. The role also involves coordinating with accounting, finance, and external advisors, supporting tax planning initiatives, and preparing reports and presentations for leadership. Qualifications Strong tax compliance skills, including experience managing federal, state, and local Tax Compliance processes. Hands‑on Tax Preparation experience, including reviewing complex returns and supporting documentation. Solid understanding of Tax Law, with the ability to interpret regulations and apply them to diverse situations. Foundational expertise in Tax and Accounting principles, including GAAP and relevant reporting standards. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Demonstrated experience in a tax‑focused role within public accounting, financial services, or a corporate tax department. Advanced proficiency with tax software and spreadsheets, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non‑specialists.
