Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, enabling tailored therapeutic strategies.

• Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans aligned with their unique needs, aspirations, and preferences, fostering a sense of ownership in their recovery journey.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), to promote emotional regulation and effective coping strategies.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and proactive self-care techniques aimed at reinforcing their wellness journey.

• Monitor and track client progress meticulously; adjust treatment plans based on evolving needs and therapeutic outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care solutions that address both psychological and medical needs.

• Stay abreast of ongoing research and best practices related to mood disorders, ensuring that treatment strategies remain current and effective.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines, fostering trust and accountability in the therapeutic relationship.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary clientele served by our LMFTs at Saint Mary's Counseling Center includes individuals grappling with mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. In addition, we actively support marginalized groups, including the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse, providing a pathway to recovery and stability. The role demands understanding, adaptability, and a strong commitment to facilitating positive outcomes for these vulnerable populations.

Qualifications\n

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
