Director of FinanceOur client, Central New York Health Home Network (CNYHHN), is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Director of Finance to oversee the organization's day-to-day accounting and financial operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting regulatory compliance, and helping align financial operations with the organization's long-term strategic goals.The ideal candidate is a proactive financial leader with a strong background in nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This individual will thrive in a collaborative environment, provide leadership to the finance team, and serve as a trusted resource to department leaders while supporting CNYHHN's mission of improving health outcomes throughout Central New York.What You'll Do:Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Develop detailed budget-to-actual variance reports to monitor organizational and program financial performance.Assist the Chief Financial Officer in preparing financial reports and presentations for executive leadership, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors.Track and monitor restricted grants and government contracts to ensure compliance with funding requirements and federal regulations.Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll in collaboration with Human Resources, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.Verify payroll allocations and labor reporting comply with federal Cost and Personnel Activity Reporting (CFR) requirements.Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring expenses and reimbursements are accurately coded by grant and department.Supervise, mentor, and support finance and accounting staff while fostering professional development.Partner with department leaders to provide guidance on budgets, financial reporting, and allowable grant expenditures.Assist with cash flow forecasting and indirect cost rate calculations.Lead preparation for annual financial and Single Audits, including reconciliations, schedules, and serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local nonprofit regulations, including IRS Form 990 documentation and CFR requirements.Participate in organizational meetings, committees, trainings, and other cross-functional initiatives.What We're Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.3–5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience; nonprofit experience preferred.Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, audits, and grant accounting.Proficiency with Sage Intacct (or similar accounting software) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance.Valid New York State driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel as needed.Work Schedule:Full-time, 40 hours per week.Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with a flexible schedule.Hybrid work environment with in-office attendance only 3 days a week once training is completed.BenefitsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompetitive retirement plan with a matchGenerous paid time off and paid major holidaysHealth Savings Account (HSA) optionsLife insurance and pet insuranceShort-term and long-term disability insuranceSalary: $80,000 - $90,000 annuallyM3 Placement and Partnership is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
