Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as a school-based Occupational Therapist. This role focuses on students in grades 3-5 within an intermediate setting, providing valuable consultative and direct services that foster growth and independence for approximately 25 students.
Enjoy a steady, predictable schedule from 8:05 am to 2:45 pm, working 2 to 3 days weekly. Whether you prefer two full days or spreading shorter hours over several days, this position offers flexibility to fit your lifestyle. The assignment runs for the entirety of the 2026-2027 school year, beginning September 8, 2026, and concluding June 16, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure in Illinois
- Previous experience supporting elementary-aged students, particularly grades 3-5, is highly valued
- Strong skills in consultative approaches, as well as delivering direct intervention for fine motor and sensory needs
- Passion for collaboration within a school team and communicating with educators, caregivers, and allied professionals
- Ability to document services and progress with clarity and attention to detail
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct consultations and provide direct OT support for fine motor and sensory regulation needs
- Work closely with teachers and staff, offering strategies that help students access the curriculum more effectively
- Develop and adapt individualized plans centered on student success and participation
- Maintain thorough documentation of sessions and student progress
- Foster an environment where all students feel supported, encouraged, and confident
