The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides assessment, management and outcome evaluation for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. The APRN serves as a resource to educate patients, families, professional nurses, and staff; functions as a liaison between patient, family and UofL Physicians staff; and participates in clinical research. The APRN should demonstrate an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency and sound clinical judgment, professionalism with respect to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. UofL Health, a division of UofL Health Physicians Group, is seeking an experienced APRN Hospitalist to join UofL Health-South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive outpatient care to adult and senior patients. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Diagnoses and manage moderately to complex medical conditions. Coordinate referrals and collaborate with specialists. Participate in clinical quality improvement programs. Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure excellent care. Exercise independent clinical judgment in patient management. Requirements / Benefits Day shift – 40 hours per week. Annual CME allowance. Health, dental and vision insurance. PTO. Free tuition to the University of Louisville for dependants. Master of Nursing degree from an accredited institution. Current licensure in the state of Kentucky as an APRN. National certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Current DEA certificate without restriction. Current BLS certification. Must be ACLS certified. Self‑awareness – ability to reflect, understand limitations and seek appropriate assistance and guidance. Judgment – exercises discretion and due diligence when making decisions and recommendations. Quality – able to perform work in a neat efficient well‑coordinated well‑communicated manner with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. Presentation – can speak in front of people to deliver necessary material or messaging. Language Ability Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats. Reasoning Ability Able to critically think through complex patient situations, process improvements, evidence‑based practice. Able to assist others in developing clinical reasoning skills.
