Supervisor, Shift - 1st Shift

This role will guide, mentor, train, and coach his/her direct reports to be productive, engaged, and quality contributors within their team and the overall functional group. The supervisor will communicate, assign, and monitor department goals, activities, quality of work, and objectives to all team members. The supervisor will also track and report any shortfalls in the progress of the production schedule or plan. This role is an Onsite Role: This role requires full-time presence at our Oxford, NC office. Responsibilities Lead and monitor daily production for assigned value stream. Supervise and lead the activities associated with filing and assembly by providing work direction, production schedules, training for continuous improvement, and mentoring for assigned associates. Understand and implement the business unit policies and procedures driving associates with an emphasis on safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Monitor compliance to ensure orders are completed on time and desired finished goods inventory levels are maintained. Perform data collection and provide metrics and reporting as required. Communicate daily with Operations manager proactively providing solutions to problems and concerns. Serve as backup to the Operations Manager of the Business Unit (BU) as needed. Assign associates to the line, communicate necessary pass up/pass down information for proficient shift handoff, ensure employees are working safely and compliant with plant safety rules and GMP guidelines. Responsible for leading improvement projects and initiatives aligned with the business strategic imperatives, including safety, employee morale, quality, waste reduction, direct & indirect labor costs, and OEE. Focus line ownership: assess current state, establish targets, develop glide paths, execute action items and achieve targeted results. Establish staff and manpower requirements to achieve compliance in meeting scheduled workloads. Ensure activities within the unit across all shifts comply with expectations set forth and are consistent with department objectives and policies. Ensure all equipment is operational and performs within expected tolerances. Solve production issues and drive continuous improvement, reduce waste, minimize changeovers and machine downtime, ensure all operation employees have defined job duties and expectations, and are managed. Take timely corrective action when needed. Interface with all other sites functional areas as needed (HR, Quality, WHSE, Planning, Payroll, etc.) and facilitate employee communication meetings, staff lines effectively, balancing full-time and temporary associates. Maintain good associate relations and morale. Attend various meetings to meet business needs and supervise and validate line performance during NPD trials. Strive to make the Oxford site a great place to work by proactively developing people (cross training, projects). Address all issues, concerns, and disciplinary actions promptly and effectively. Innovation – Provide challenges, changes, ideas, and suggestions to drive the organization forward. Provide/facilitate training as needed. Ensure that all appropriate records are accurate and maintained within guidelines. Enforce plant procedures and policies and hold those not in compliance accountable. Facilitate employee feedback and conduct annual performance reviews for subordinates. Ensure that associates are efficiently producing product in compliance with Revlon and governmental guidelines and specifications. Investigate and determine root causes and corrective actions for product out of specifications. Interact with Quality to resolve problems or issues affecting areas of responsibility. Maximize line uptime and throughput through efficient use of associates and equipment. Ensure the product is being produced at the highest quality standards. Review scrap and potential quality concerns and provide resolution. Review and sign appropriate paperwork. Ensure all necessary paperwork is appropriately completed and maintained in a prompt and efficient manner. Work with quality resources as needed to implement new requirements due to new products or new regulations. Responsible for operational financial aspects of the shift assigned: control of labor (direct, indirect, nonstandard) and material performance to established standards and minimization of waste. Qualifications Prefer a 4-year BS or BA in an engineering discipline; other areas of study considered with appropriate experience. 5-7 years of experience required. Experience: proven track record of supervision of associates in a production environment, preferably drug and/or cosmetic. Knowledge of production equipment, especially safe operating techniques, product capabilities, and troubleshooting methods. Must possess teamwork characteristics with the ability to motivate, communicate, and proactively develop associates. High level of personal commitment, motivation, and intensity with demonstrated leadership in a production environment. Knowledge and experience with operations in an FDA–GMP environment. Significant communication skills – verbal and written. Revlon is unable to sponsor or transfer employment visas for this role; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa support. The base pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 / year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short-term incentives as part of total compensation. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits. Employees are covered by the company-paid basic life insurance policy and company-paid short-term disability insurance (the benefit commences upon hire and allows for a portion of base salary for up to 26 weeks if you are disabled). Other benefits offered to employees include long-term disability, supplemental life insurances, flexible spending accounts, critical illness insurance, group legal, identity theft protection, etc. Employees are also able to enroll in the 401k Retirement Savings Plan. Employees will also receive 3 weeks of vacation, prorated based on date of hire for the 1st year of employment and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
