What You'll Be Up To

• Performing comprehensive evaluations for patients, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and establishing customized care strategies
• Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions alongside physicians or independently (based on your credentialing)
• Providing education to patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management strategies
• Prescribing medications and treatment modalities in adherence to your scope of practice
• Engaging in patient follow-up and managing chronic care
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, holistic healthcare
• Documenting patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in electronic medical records (EMR)

What You Need to Succeed

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Certifications Required

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Alaska
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
