What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population in the PCU unit
• Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications and titratable drips (MedSurg RN competency required)
• Support patient assessments, vital signs, and EKG interpretation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, RT, PT, OT, and support staff
• Follow all hospital protocols, including charting in Meditech Expanse EMR
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compassionate environment for patients and staff

What You Need

Required:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or multi-state privilege (compact license)
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• 2+ years of recent acute care RN experience in MedSurg or similar units
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam prior to start

• Experience with titratable medication management (Cardene, Cardizem, Heparin, etc.)
• Knowledge of chest tube management, tracheostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, and CSF drains
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably Meditech Expanse
