With a strong reputation for delivering safe, high-quality, and reliable power infrastructure projects, our client provides a full range of services including transmission, distribution, substations, relay protection, testing and commissioning, apparatus maintenance, and emergency restoration services. As part of their continued growth strategy, they are seeking an experienced Regional Manager to lead operations across a designated territory. The Opportunity The Regional Manager will oversee multiple Grid Protection & Substation Services operations across the region, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role requires a strong operational leader who can manage field teams, support business growth, maintain customer relationships, and drive operational excellence. Must-Have Requirements Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience within the electrical utility, transmission & distribution, relay protection, substation, or power delivery industry. Direct experience in relay protection, testing & commissioning, apparatus services, or related electrical infrastructure construction and maintenance activities. Proven experience managing multiple crews, projects, or operating units simultaneously within a utility, power delivery, or electrical construction environment. Willingness to be based in Tennessee and travel throughout the assigned region as required. Must be a U.S. Citizen or otherwise permanently authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Provide leadership and direction to Superintendents, Technicians, Project Managers, and field personnel across the assigned territory. Execute regional business strategies aligned with company objectives. Identify growth opportunities and support business development initiatives. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Partner with senior leadership to drive operational performance and profitability. Operational Management Oversee the execution of relay protection and apparatus projects across the region. Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. Manage manpower, equipment, and resources to maximize productivity and cost efficiency. Collaborate with Safety, Fleet, Commercial Operations, and Project Management teams to support successful project delivery. Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Build and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships. Labor Relations & Compliance Serve as a key point of contact with union representatives where applicable. Ensure compliance with labor agreements, company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations. Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture throughout all operations. Mentor, coach, and develop operational and technical teams. Support succession planning and employee development initiatives. Drive employee engagement and performance across the region. Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities. Monitor operational and financial performance. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control costs while maintaining service quality. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred. Strong understanding of relay protection, testing and commissioning, apparatus maintenance, substations, and power delivery systems. Demonstrated success leading large-scale utility or electrical construction operations. Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational performance. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
