Accountant II, Financial Reporting

Role Description As an Accountant II, Financial Reporting, you will support the preparation and analysis of financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities include executing journal entries, preparing analytical reports, and assisting the month‑end close process across statutory (STAT), GAAP, and IFRS accounting bases. You will contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and board presentations while collaborating with cross‑functional teams throughout the accounting department. You will also research accounting principles and industry developments, assist with annual budgeting activities, support system enhancements and testing efforts, and coordinate with internal and external auditors. This position requires a detail‑oriented accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, manages multiple priorities, and pursues continuous technical accounting growth. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. 1 or more years of relevant accounting experience in accounting or the insurance industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and complete responsibilities within established deadlines. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment. Detail‑oriented mindset with strong analytical and multitasking abilities. Ability to learn new systems and technologies. Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship for this position now or in the future. This position allows for a hybrid work schedule including a minimum of three days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office. Preferred Qualifications CPA designation. MBA. Experience with PeopleSoft. Experience with STAT, GAAP, and/or IFRS accounting principles.
