Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist – Emergency Medicine

Compensation & Incentive Package:

• Annual Salary Range: $112,500 – $153,000 / year (commensurate with clinical experience and residency training)
• Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 relocation allowance available for qualifying candidates (discussed during the interview process) .
• Work Location: Onsite position. Remote work is not available. Relocation assistance provided to support transition.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a high-caliber Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacist to join a dedicated, expanding pharmacy team within a high-volume 26-bed Emergency Department designated as a Level III Trauma Center. Handling over 36,000 ED visits annually, you will practice at the top of your license, providing direct patient care during critical interventions, driving ED-specific medication safety initiatives, and shaping the future of emergency medicine pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Clinical Care & Emergency Response:

• Clinical Pharmacotherapy: Deliver direct pharmaceutical care, including real-time medication selection, complex dosing calculations, therapeutic drug monitoring, and discharge/admission medication reconciliations.
• Emergency Response: Actively respond to emergency bedside resuscitations, including Code Blue, Trauma, Stroke Alerts, and critical care incubations.
• Protocol & Quality Leadership: Lead the development, review, and implementation of ED-specific medication protocols, order sets, and clinical quality initiatives.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Mentorship:

• Clinical Education: Serve as a clinical preceptor for pharmacy students and PGY1/PGY2 pharmacy residents.
• Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate closely with ED physicians, trauma surgeons, emergency nurses, and mid-level providers to optimize outcomes in urgent and emergent care scenarios.
• Committee Engagement: Participate in medical staff, Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T), and hospital-wide patient safety committees.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:

Education & Credentials:

• Doctorate Degree: Doctor of Pharmacy ( PharmD ) from an ACPE-accredited program [Required] .
• State Licensure: Active State Pharmacist License (or eligibility for licensure by exam or reciprocity) [Highly Preferred] .

Experience & Residency:

• Residency Training: PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and/or PGY2 Emergency Medicine Specialty Residency [Preferred] .
• Clinical Background: Dedicated acute care hospital pharmacy experience [Preferred] .
• Emergency Medicine Experience: 1–2+ years of clinical pharmacy practice within an Emergency Department or Critical Care setting [Preferred] .
