Professor of Practice - Government and Legal Studies

Responsibilities Provide undergraduate instruction in political science and government, carrying a 5/5 course load. Serve as pre‑law advisor for students preparing law school and legal and policy careers. Mentor students in law and policy topics, facilitate discussions on law school application processes and trends. Participate in departmental meetings and service activities as required. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Substantial experience teaching and mentoring students about law and policy. Strong knowledge of law school application processes and current trends. Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and student mentoring. Residence in the state of Texas for the duration of the appointment. Security-sensitive position requiring a criminal history check; additional review for research involving critical infrastructure. Employment Conditions The appointment is a non‑tenure‑track 9‑month faculty position. Home address required to be in the state of Texas.
