Bilingual Demolition Foreman

Job Summary

A Demolition Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily demolition operations at construction sites. This role ensures that demolition work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans, schedules, and applicable safety regulations. The foreman leads demolition crews, operates or oversees heavy equipment, coordinates with project management, and maintains a safe and productive job site.

Key Responsibilities

·         Crew Supervision: Lead, assign, and supervise demolition laborers, equipment operators, and subcontractors.

·         Daily Operations: Plan and coordinate daily demolition activities to meet project deadlines and production goals.

·         Safety Compliance: Enforce OSHA requirements, site-specific safety procedures, PPE use, fall protection, and hazard-control measures.

·         Demolition Planning: Review blueprints, work scopes, demolition plans, and site conditions before work begins.

·         Equipment Management: Oversee the safe use of excavators, skid steers, loaders, breakers, and other demolition equipment.

·         Site Preparation: Coordinate utility disconnects, barricades, access routes, dust suppression, and other pre-demolition requirements.

·         Material Removal: Supervise structural demolition, interior gut-outs, concrete removal, debris handling, and waste disposal.

·         Hazard Identification: Identify structural instability, hazardous materials, overhead hazards, and other site risks; stop work when unsafe conditions arise.

·         Quality Control: Ensure work meets project specifications and that materials are removed according to the approved scope.

·         Communication: Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades.

·         Reporting: Track labor hours, equipment usage, daily production, incidents, delays, and job progress.

·         Housekeeping: Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure debris is properly sorted and disposed of.

Qualifications and Requirements

·         Demolition experience.

·         Previous experience leading or supervising a demolition crew.

·         Knowledge of demolition methods, construction materials, and job-site safety procedures.

·         Ability to read and understand construction drawings, work plans, and project specifications.

·         Experience operating or supervising heavy equipment.

·         Knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable local safety requirements.

·         Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

·         Ability to work outdoors, in physically demanding environments, and around heavy equipment.

·         Valid driver's license; additional equipment or safety certifications preferred.
