Setting: Outpatient | Intensive Outpatient | Partial Hospitalization | Residential | Psychiatric Services | Medication-Assisted Treatment

Job Summary

The Clinical Therapist provides behavioral health and substance use treatment services to individuals experiencing addiction and/or mental health challenges. The role includes individual and group therapy, case management, crisis intervention, treatment planning, care coordination, and clinical documentation while maintaining client confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individual and group therapy within the scope of practice and under appropriate clinical supervision.
- Provide case management and crisis intervention services as needed.
- Complete crisis and safety plans, treatment plans, service notes, transition plans, and discharge plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical records for quality improvement, billing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with program development and treatment planning as assigned.
- Protect client confidentiality and handle PHI in compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and applicable regulations.
- Identify community resources and make appropriate referrals based on client needs.
- Coordinate Case Management or CPST services when medically necessary to address barriers to recovery.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community providers to support integrated care.
- Develop and strengthen clients' natural support systems within the community.
- Encourage positive social engagement and participation in safe, supportive environments.
- Utilize person-centered, strength-based, culturally sensitive, and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Encourage participation in community-based Wellness and Recovery Action Plans.
- Apply positive reinforcement and progressive pro-social interventions.
- Respond to clinical and community-provider inquiries within required timeframes.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, or equivalent experience
- Active Ohio license/credential such as:

• LCDC II
• LCDC III
• LPC
• LPCC
• LSW
• LISW
• LICDC
• Valid Ohio Driver's License and automobile insurance
• Successful completion of BCI background check
• Successful completion of required Corporate Compliance checks
• Successful pre-employment drug screening .

Required Skills

- Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges
- Individual and group counseling skills
- Knowledge of behavioral health treatment and community resources
- Crisis intervention and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to person-centered, strength-based, culturally sensitive, and recovery-oriented care

Work Environment

This position supports clients across a behavioral health continuum that may include outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, psychiatric services, and medication-assisted treatment programs .
