Veterinary Medical Director - Route 516 Animal Hospital (Old Bridge)

Veterinary Medical Director | $140,000-$160,000 | Old Bridge, NJ

Lead a Hospital. Shape a Team. Still Practice the Medicine You Love. Some leadership roles pull veterinarians away from patient care. This isn't one of them .

At Route 516 Animal Hospital, we're looking for a Medical Director who wants the opportunity to guide a talented team, influence the future of a growing practice, and maintain an active role in medicine. This is a chance to make a lasting impact, not just on patients and clients, but on the veterinarians, technicians, and support staff who help make great medicine possible every day. If you're looking for a leadership opportunity where your voice matters, your ideas are welcomed, and your contributions help shape the future of a hospital, we'd love to meet you.

Why Route 516?

• Lead Without Losing Your Identity as a Veterinarian: Maintain an active role in patient care while helping guide medical standards, mentorship, and hospital growth.
• Influence the Future of the Hospital: Partner with an engaged team to support clinical excellence, strengthen culture, and drive long-term success.
• Medical Autonomy Matters Here : Practice medicine your way while having the support of a veterinarian-led organization that values local decision-making.
• Build a Team People Want to Be Part Of : Great hospitals aren't built by one person. They're built by leaders who develop people, encourage growth, and create an environment where teams thrive.
• Support Beyond the Hospital Walls : You'll have the backing of Encore Vet Group along with a community of veterinary leaders who understand the opportunities and challenges of practice leadership.

Compensation Designed Around Your Impact

Salary range is $140,000- 160,000 with additional earning potential. Whether you prefer the stability of a guaranteed salary or the earning potential of production, we'll work with you to create a compensation package that aligns with your goals. Our compensation model rewards the care and services you provide to patients and clients:

22% Professional Services| 10% In-Practice Pharmacy| 5% Online Pharmacy

With no negative accrual, you can enjoy the upside of production without the stress of carrying a future repayment balance.

Support for your Career and Well-Being:

• Generous CE Allowance + Encore Performance Academy.
• Health, Dental, and Vision coverage
• 401(k) with up to a 5% match.
• Student loan assistance.
• Professional dues coverage; company provided VIN membership.
• Paid parental leave, PTO and holiday pay
• Pet benefits
• Free virtual mental health support

You Are...

• A US-licensed DVM or equivalent
• An experienced veterinarian ready to step into leadership or an established Medical Director seeking a new opportunity
• Passionate about developing people and supporting team growth
• Confident in diagnostics, treatment planning, surgery, and client communication
• A collaborative leader who values transparency, mentorship, and teamwork
• Excited to help shape the future of a practice while continuing to practice medicine

The best Medical Directors don't just manage hospitals. They help build cultures, develop teams, elevate medicine, and create places where people are excited to come to work. If that sounds like the kind of impact you'd like to make, let's talk.
