Superintendent - Commercial Interiors

Job Description

Superintendent – Commercial Interiors | NYC General Contractor | Full-Time

\n

\n

New York City, NY | On-Site | $130,000–$180,000 + Benefits + Project-Based Incentives

\n

\n

A well-established NYC General Contractor — nearly 40 years in business, family-run, and still growing — is looking for a Superintendent to take full field ownership of their next wave of projects. Their portfolio spans high-profile interior builds across commercial, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and institutional sectors, with some ground-up work as well, though interiors remain the core focus. They're known in the market for precision delivery and long-term repeat client relationships. This is a 100+ person GC/CM firm with a steady, primarily interior-focused pipeline.

\n

\n

The core of the work is fast-moving, design-led interior construction — the kind of project where finish quality and sequencing actually matter, and where you'll see your work featured rather than buried under a facade.

\n

\n

THE PROJECTS YOU'LL RUN

\n

Corporate office fit-outs and full-floor renovations for name-brand tenants

\n

️ Retail flagship builds to exacting design and millwork standards

\n

️ Hospitality projects — restaurants, bars, and venues with tight sequencing and high finish demands

\n

Healthcare and institutional interiors requiring precision coordination

\n

Renovation and base-build work where interior coordination makes or breaks the schedule

\n

\n

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

\n

✔ Experience running commercial interior fit-outs, tenant improvements, or high-spec renovations as a Superintendent

\n

✔ Background with a GC, construction manager, or developer-side construction team in NYC

\n

✔ Comfort with fast-track sequencing, MEP coordination, and finish-intensive delivery

\n

✔ Working knowledge of NYC DOB requirements and inspections (DOB Superintendent License a plus, not a dealbreaker — we'll support the right candidate through it if needed)

\n

✔ A field leader trades want to work for — someone who sets the standard and keeps a job moving without cutting corners

\n

\n

WHAT THE ROLE LOOKS LIKE

\n

→ Own field operations from mobilization through final turnover

\n

→ Drive sequencing, logistics, safety, and quality on fast-moving interior projects

\n

→ Coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, and site personnel day to day

\n

→ Manage MEP rough-in, finishes, and commissioning against tight schedules

\n

→ Work directly with PMs, design teams, clients, and building management — you'll never be out of the loop

\n

→ Handle permits and DOB compliance without losing momentum

\n

→ Lead punch list, closeout, and handover to a consistently high standard

\n

\n

WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

\n

⭐ Nearly 40 years in NYC, family-run, and still growing — real stability in an industry that doesn't always offer it

\n

⭐ Broad, steady pipeline across office, retail, hospitality, healthcare — with some ground-up work too — so there's no downtime between projects

\n

⭐ Genuine on-site autonomy — this contractor trusts its Supers to run their jobs

\n

⭐ A collaborative project team model (Account Exec, Estimator, PM, Assistant PM, and Super) so you're never carrying a job alone

\n

⭐ A real path into Senior Superintendent or Project Leadership as the company grows
