Brooklyn, NY based specialty trade subcontractor is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Assistant Superintendent / Foreman to assist in field operations and support our installation and service technician teams.

Responsibilities include:

\n

· Perform field measurements and job-site project layouts

\n

· Supervise and coordinate installation and service technician crews

\n

· Schedule crews, equipment, and field activities

\n

· Coordinate with Project Managers and communicate job-site conditions and project progress

\n

· Communicate with the main office staff and mnament team

\n

· Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements

\n

· Assist with troubleshooting and resolving field issues

\n

Qualifications:

\n

· Construction field experience required

\n

· Experience supervising construction and technical crews preferred

\n

· Experience with overhead doors, fire-rated doors, movable partitions, or related specialty construction is preferred

\n

· Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing

\n

· Strong communication and organizational skills

\n

· Ability to read plans and understand construction layouts

\n

· Ability to travel to various job sites throughout the New York metropolitan area

\n

· Spanish-speaking skills are a plus

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Superintendent / Foreman role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The individual in this role oversees daily field operations for door, shutter, and curtain installations, coordinating crews, materials, and equipment to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with specifications. Responsibilities include supervising installers and technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring work quality, and enforcing safety procedures and building codes. The role involves reading and interpreting construction drawings, conducting site walkthroughs, resolving field issues, and communicating progress and constraints to project managers, contractors, and clients. The Assistant Superintendent / Foreman also maintains documentation such as daily logs, time sheets, and incident reports, while supporting training of team members and promoting continuous improvement on job sites.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising construction or installation crews, with the ability to coordinate labor, materials, and equipment on active job sites.
\n
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and technical product details related to doors, shutters, and curtain systems.
\n
• Strong knowledge of job-site safety practices, OSHA guidelines, and relevant building and fire codes, with a track record of enforcing safety standards.
\n
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with project managers, general contractors, field crews, and clients.
\n
• Hands-on experience in construction, carpentry, metalwork, or mechanical installation; prior work with commercial door or fire protection systems is highly beneficial.
\n
• Ability to troubleshoot installation issues, make field decisions, and maintain quality control under time and schedule constraints.
\n
• Basic computer and mobile technology skills for email, project documentation, and use of construction management or scheduling tools.
\n
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites within the New York City Metropolitan Area.
\n
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or coursework in construction management or a related trade is a plus.
\n
• Capacity to perform physical tasks, including lifting materials, working on ladders or scaffolding, and standing for extended periods, in varying site conditions.
