Payroll/ Benefits Administrator

Elder Construction is looking for a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our Accounting & Finance team. This role owns our weekly payroll and day-to-day benefits administration while supporting the systems and employee processes behind them. You'll work across payroll, benefits, accounting and employee administration, with a strong focus on accuracy, reconciliation and keeping information aligned across multiple systems.

We're looking for someone who understands payroll and benefits, is comfortable managing a detailed, recurring process from beginning to end, and takes pride in making sure information is accurate and the numbers tie out. You consistently double-check your work, catch discrepancies and follow through when something doesn't look right.

This is a full-time, in-office position in Windsor, Colorado and is not eligible for remote work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own and process weekly payroll, from timekeeping review through final processing and reconciliation
• Administer employee benefits, enrollments, deductions and Open Enrollment
• Reconcile payroll and benefit information and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate employee information across payroll, accounting and benefit systems
• Coordinate the administrative side of onboarding, employee changes, leaves and offboarding
• Complete recurring payroll, benefit and compliance reporting
• Troubleshoot system and data issues and coordinate with internal teams and outside partners to resolve them
• Help maintain and improve the processes and controls behind payroll and benefits

ABOUT ELDER CONSTRUCTION

Elder Construction is a commercial general contractor based in Windsor, Colorado with operations in both Northern Colorado and the Colorado Springs areas. In this role, you'll work closely with Accounting & Finance, our People team, employees and outside partners across the organization.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation: $23.25 - $33.65 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime.

This position may also be eligible for discretionary company-wide profit sharing, subject to company and employee eligibility requirements. Profit sharing is not guaranteed.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience running payroll and working through the full payroll cycle
• Working knowledge of payroll fundamentals, including wage and hour requirements, deductions, taxes, and withholding
• Understanding of accounting fundamentals related to payroll and benefits, including payroll liabilities, accruals, reconciliations, and paid time off
• Experience with benefits administration, including enrollments, life events, deductions, COBRA, and Open Enrollment
• Experience reconciling information across payroll, HRIS, accounting, or other systems
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort working across and learning multiple systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring deadlines
• Good judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee and compensation information
• Clear communication and consistent follow-through

Helpful, but not required: Experience with Paylocity, Acumatica, construction or other job-costed environments, multi-state payroll, Colorado payroll requirements, or prevailing wage.
