Associate Director/ Director, Structuring Lead

Associate Director/ Director Structuring Lead Business Unit: Barings Portfolio Finance Location: Boston, MA The Structuring Lead role will lead and support structuring, execution, and operational design of financing structures for Barings Portfolio Finance. Borrowers are blue chip private markets managers and their portfolios of Private Equity, Credit, Real Estate and Infrastructure investments. The role will support all stages of transactions from initial structure through the legal documentation process and ongoing maintenance of facilities, working alongside the Investment team to challenge and provide ideas on the most robust and commercially viable financing solutions, involved in legal negotiations, and driving strategic projects. Primary Responsibilities Serve as a key resource on the deal team of lending projects, drafting, negotiating, and reviewing transaction documentation and collaborating with investment, operations and onboarding teams to implement transaction‑specific implementation issues. Build relationships with borrowers, co‑lenders and service providers, leveraging the internal and external network to improve operational efficiency, risk management and program positioning. Demonstrate mastery of strong operational, analytical, modeling and real‑time problem‑solving skills to support investment goals and create situation‑specific operational and servicing solutions based on target collateral and negotiated financing structure. Identify and synthesize the key structural, operational and risk factors for new credit facilities, developing procedures to mitigate these factors and articulate risk‑minimizing strategies in internal procedures, partner discussions and presentations. Oversee the ongoing calendar of scheduled and ad hoc deliverables for each facility, track performance KPIs, and coordinate periodic reviews with borrowers and external partners. Coordinate ongoing interactions with current and prospective managers/borrowers. Qualifications Strong industry knowledge and connections within alternative investments. Experience in structuring of complex financing structures (e.g., ABL secured lending, CFOs/Rated Feeders, PE Nav, Secondaries, GP Facilities). Knowledge of jurisdictions such as Delaware, UK, Cayman Islands, Luxembourg, Jersey, Guernsey, Ireland and Scotland. Excellent analytical, modeling, real‑time problem‑solving and communication skills. Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external legal counsel, administrative agents and other lenders. Base Salary Range $110,000 – $180,000 (depending on experience); includes additional incentive programs.
