What success looks like in this role: We are seeking a Senior Middleware & Hybrid Cloud Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and modernization of enterprise middleware and hybrid cloud solutions. This role is heavily focused on project delivery, including cloud transformation, application migration, and platform engineering across mission-critical environments.The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in middleware platforms, AWS cloud architecture, and automation, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale implementations in 24/7 SLA-driven environments.Key Responsibilities (Project-Focused)Lead Middleware & Cloud ImplementationsDrive end-to-end delivery of middleware and hybrid cloud solutions, including architecture, design, build, migration, and deployment.Enable Application ModernizationExecute transformation initiatives by re-platforming legacy applications and migrating workloads to AWS and hybrid cloud environments.Design Scalable & Resilient SolutionsImplement highly available, secure, and performance-optimized architectures aligned with enterprise standards and DR requirements (RPO/RTO).Deploy Middleware & Messaging PlatformsImplement enterprise middleware technologies such as WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, and messaging solutions including IBM MQ, Artemis MQ, and Mule ESB.Implement Automation & Infrastructure as CodeDevelop provisioning and deployment automation using CloudFormation, JSON, YAML, and scripting to enable consistent and efficient delivery.Integrate Hybrid EnvironmentsDesign and implement connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and AWS cloud environments.Ensure Monitoring & Performance OptimizationDeploy monitoring and observability tools to maintain system health, optimize performance, and meet SLA commitments.Embed Security & ComplianceIntegrate enterprise security controls, identity management, and regulatory requirements into all implementations.Collaborate Across TeamsPartner with application, infrastructure, security, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.Support DevOps & Release EnablementEnable CI/CD pipelines and release automation to improve deployment speed and reliability.You will be successful in this role if you have:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience10+ years of experience in middleware, infrastructure, and cloud environmentsProven experience delivering large-scale implementation and migration projectsStrong hands-on expertise with: Middleware: WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, TomcatMessaging: IBM MQ, Artemis MQ, Mule ESBAWS cloud services and hybrid architecturesExperience in 24/7 production environments with SLA accountabilityStrong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system design skillsPreferred QualificationsAWS Certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, Security Specialty)Experience in regulated industries (government, financial services, insurance)Familiarity with Linux, AIX, Unix, Windows Server, and OracleExperience with enterprise security tools (LDAP, SiteMinder, IAM)Exposure to Generative AI / AI-assisted operations conceptsTechnical EnvironmentMiddleware: WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, IBM ServerMessaging: IBM MQ, Apache Artemis, Sonic MQ, Mule ESBAutomation: CloudFormation, JSON, YAML, scriptingMonitoring: AppDynamics, CloudWatch, Tivoli, ITCAMInfrastructure: Linux, AIX, Unix, WindowsBenefit Highlights:Unisys offers an outstanding benefits package, featuring unlimited paid time off, a 401(k) match, comprehensive healthcare, HSA matching, ongoing learning opportunities, and more!
