Role Description The Manual Machinist is a full-time, on-site role based in Roebuck, SC. This position is responsible for setting up and operating manual lathes, mills, and other conventional machine tools to produce and repair gears and related components to precise specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints and work orders, selecting appropriate tooling, performing accurate measurements, and maintaining tight tolerances on a variety of materials and part sizes. The machinist will collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines, perform routine machine maintenance, and follow safety and quality procedures. The role also involves troubleshooting machining issues, contributing to continuous improvement, and documenting work performed. Qualifications Proficiency in operating manual lathes, mills, and related conventional machine tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions with strong shop math skills. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) and holding tight tolerances. Knowledge of material properties, cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling selection for various machining operations. Experience with gear machining, repair, or industrial equipment manufacturing is highly beneficial. Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and preventative maintenance practices. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Prior experience as a machinist in an industrial or manufacturing environment; vocational training or apprenticeship in machining is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
