Job Description Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine Hospital as a Patient Care Manager (PCM) in the 4 E CVICU unit. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. Essential Job Functions Demonstrates a working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements. Excellent interpersonal communication skills to maintain an open network of communication among staff members, care center and sector leadership, and other health care professionals and departments. Communicating with Patients and Customers, Adjusting to Patient and Customer Needs Respecting One Another, Maintaining an Appropriate Environment. Uses a broad theoretical knowledge base and the principles of patient centered care to assist in the establishment of patient centered care standards. Demonstrates clinical and leadership skills, serving as a role model for staff members. Recognizes and identifies clinical practice problems and facilitates solutions. Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the budget within established guidelines. Schedules staff in accordance with patient care needs and union contracts. Provides and supports an environment which encourages staff to accept responsibility for learning as part of the development of their own professional practice. Complies with standards and regulations of various licensing, regulatory and accrediting agencies. Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Required Qualifications Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher Current Illinois RN license Three years of clinical experience in ICU/Emergency Medicine Charge Nurse experience with demonstrated leadership skills BLS Certification through the American Heart Association Preferred Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing Level 1 Trauma experience RN experience in a Teaching Hospital Progressive Leadership experience (Strongly preferred) 5 years of ICU experience in an academic medical institution Holds a national certification, CCRN Position Details Job Type/FTE: Full-time (1.0) Shift: Day, (8 Hours) Unit/Department: 4E CVICU CBA Code: Non-Union Work Location - Onsite About Us We’ve been at the forefront of medicine since 1899. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
