Must have experience within the construction industry, preferably civil construction and experience using Viewpoint Spectrum.

A leading North Texas civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a growing organization generating approximately $90M annually in revenue.

This company specializes in underground utilities, excavation, and civil infrastructure projects throughout the DFW market. The Controller will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting and financial operations for the company
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Supervise accounting staff and establish best practices across the department
• Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes
• Manage job cost accounting and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
• Partner with operations leadership to provide financial insights and support decision-making
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and banking relationships
• Monitor project performance, profitability, and financial risk
• Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of accounting and financial management experience
• Construction industry experience required
• Civil construction, underground utilities, excavation, sitework, or heavy civil experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing accounting functions for a multi-million-dollar contractor
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, project forecasting, and construction financial reporting
• Viewpoint Spectrum experience required
• Proven leadership experience managing accounting personnel
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA is not required
