Staff Accountant

Our client in the biotechnology industry is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is eager to support core accounting operations for a mission-driven organization.The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with general ledger maintenance, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and other day-to-day accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic and evolving industry.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustmentsPerform monthly bank and account reconciliationsAssist with month-end and year-end close processesMaintain general ledger accuracy and support financial statement preparationAnalyze variances and research discrepanciesSupport accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting activities as neededAssist with audit preparation and provide documentation for internal and external auditorsEnsure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standardsHelp improve accounting processes and support system enhancementsPartner with finance and operational teams on ad hoc reporting and special projects
