Interim Position Purpose Statement The teacher’s role supports classroom instruction, student success, lesson planning, classroom management, and collaboration with staff and parents. The teacher provides assessment, feedback, and counseling to ensure academic progress and a safe learning environment. Essential Functions Administer subject‑specific assessments to evaluate student competence. Advise parents and legal guardians on student progress and classroom goals. Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration. Collaborate with instructional staff, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes. Counsel students or refer them to appropriate school personnel. Demonstrate pedagogical approaches that engage learners. Differentiates classroom work for individualized learning. Direct instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers. Instruct students in chemistry to improve academic success. Manage student behavior to create a safe and optimal learning environment. Monitor students in classroom, campus, and field trip settings. Participate in district, staff, and departmental meetings. Participate in PLC teams to review data and instructional practices. Prepare written materials such as grades, attendance, and anecdotal records. Report health and safety issues to the administrator and appropriate agencies. Respond to emergency situations and direct to appropriate personnel. Respond to inquiries from teachers, parents, and administrators. Other Functions Perform related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Skills : Apply assessment instruments; operate office equipment and software; prepare accurate records; implement curriculum and instructional techniques. Knowledge : Understand algebra and geometry; read technical information; write documents; facilitate discussions; assess procedures; understand regulations, policies, and developmental stages. Abilities : Schedule activities; gather and analyze data; operate equipment; adapt to changing priorities; maintain confidentiality; exhibit tact and patience; collaborate on a team; meet deadlines. Responsibilities Work under limited supervision using standardized practices; direct others within the work unit; utilize resources from other units as needed. Work Environment Occasional lifting and physical exertion; primarily standing and walking; exposure to temperature extremes. Experience Job‑related experience is desired. Education Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
