Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year

Location: Roseland, NJ — On-site in our Roseland office, with close collaboration and day-to-day access to experienced attorneys and a supportive legal team.

Note:  Candidates must have an active New Jersey law license in good standing and 2+ years of litigation experience. This opportunity is best suited for an attorney at the 2 to 10 year associate level who is ready to take on meaningful litigation work and continue developing as a lawyer.

Job Description

• Support and manage civil litigation matters in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Conduct legal research and develop practical strategies for complex litigation issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Handle all phases of discovery and assist with case strategy and preparation.
• Participate in depositions, motion practice, court conferences, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Work on matters involving municipal and government law, including redevelopment and long-term tax exemption.
• Gain exposure to labor and employment matters as well as other related areas of litigation.
• Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Take increasing ownership of litigation matters while developing strong advocacy and courtroom skills.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys in a professional, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active New Jersey law license in good standing.
• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Experience with pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, or court appearances.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned matters.
• Municipal or government law experience is a strong plus.
• Redevelopment, long-term tax exemption, or labor and employment experience is a plus.
