Speech Therapist

Catholic Health Services (CHS) seeks a dedicated Speech Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in South Florida. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders for patients across diverse care settings, including hospitals, elderly care, and home health. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans, document progress, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing evaluations for adult and geriatric patients Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans to address communication and swallowing needs Provide direct speech, language, and swallowing therapy in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, and/or home health settings Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, compensatory techniques, and home exercise programs Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation staff, and other team members to coordinate and optimize patient care Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory and CHS standards Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, and discharge planning Monitor and report changes in patient status, treatment response, and functional outcomes Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements, professional standards, and facility policies Engage in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical practice Required Skills Speech and language assessment and diagnosis Dysphagia (swallowing) evaluation and treatment Cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation Voice and resonance therapy Treatment planning and goal setting Clinical documentation and EMR proficiency Interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination Patient and family education Time management and caseload organization Knowledge of medical terminology and rehabilitation principles #J-18808-Ljbffr
