Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a major academic hospital in Cleveland, OH, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and at least 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit
• May float to other Med/Surg and ED units to care for the same patient population
• Day/night rotating shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Shift preference will be accommodated when possible, but facility reserves the right to rotate shifts based on operational needs
• 13-week contract with potential for extension up to 18 consecutive months

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — no pending applications accepted
• Current and active certifications required: BLS (AHA or American Red Cross), ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 18 months of combined permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele, preferably within a single location
• 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required — travel experience is acceptable
• One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the same specialty, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months (co-worker references are not accepted)
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• No open background case issues; facility does not accept any license hits

Additional Information

• ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments are completed during orientation; a passing score on both is required, with a maximum of two attempts allowed
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and average 6–15 hours to complete
• Must work at least every other holiday
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Permanent and per diem employees of this health system must wait one year from their previous end date before working as a traveler
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to 18 consecutive months; a 6-month break is required before returning to any facility in this health system
• Nurses are exempt from the facility's nicotine-free requirement
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
