San Diego, CAJob TypeFull-timeDescriptionClient Solution Architects (CSA) is currently seeking a Systems Engineer III to support a program onsite in San Diego, CA,This position will support critical naval software delivery operations for Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC-PAC), located in San Diego, California. The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Application Arsenal (AA), NIWC-PAC's enterprise-class software distribution and delivery platform for software deployed at the tactical edge. Current deployment targets include Agile Core Services (ACS), USMC Common Hosting Environment, and other continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) software environments.The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure software delivery pipelines that operate across multiple classification domains and challenging operational environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in modern DevSecOps practices, containerized architectures, and defense-specific platform integration.For nearly 50 years, CSA has delivered integrated technology and operational support services to meet the defense and federal sector's most complex enterprise needs. Working from operations centers and shipyards to training sites and program offices, CSA deploys experienced teams, innovative tools and proven processes to advance federal missions. How Role will make an impact:Engineer and maintain full lifecycle software development pipelines for containerized, virtual machines, and cloud-based architectureImplement and optimize DevSecOps automation across Unclassified, Secret, and Top-Secret security domainsConfigure and integrate automated security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanners) as quality gates within CI/CD pipelinesDesign and troubleshoot interoperable software systems for deployment in Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited-bandwidth (DDIL) environmentsSupport software delivery to afloat and ashore Platform as a Service (PaaS) environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies to deliver mission-critical capabilitiesEnsure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements and government-mandated pipeline standardsProvide technical expertise for integration with allied partner systems and emerging autonomous platformsRequirementsWhat you’ll need to have to join our award-winning team:Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. Minimum Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in full lifecycle software development for containerized, virtual machine, and cloud-based architecture across multiple security domains (Unclassified, Secret, Top Secret) using Agile methodologiesMinimum Four (4) years of demonstrated experience applying DevSecOps principles, including:Configuring automated security testing tools (SAST/DAST/SCA and container scanners) as quality gates directly in CI/CD pipelinesWorking within highly regulated, government-mandated pipelines (e.g., Overmatch Software Armory (OSA) or equivalent DoD enterprise DevSecOps environments)Minimum Three (3) years of demonstrated experience engineering, integrating, and troubleshooting interoperable software systems within critical defense platforms, specifically:Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited-bandwidth (DDIL) environmentsAfloat and ashore Platform as a Service (PaaS) environmentsNavy's Agile Core Services (ACS)USMC's Common Hosting Environment (CHE)Architecture designed for Five Eyes (FVEY) partner interoperabilityPhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:Sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer workstationUse hands and fingers to operate keyboards, mice, and other input devicesCommunicate effectively, both verbally and in writingSpecific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjustStand, walk, bend, or reach; Access equipment located in data centers, offices, or under desksLift and/or move equipment weighing up to 25 poundsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
