Medical Office Assistant

SpineSearch is seeking a highly professional medical office assistant to join a concierge orthopedic group with offices in Englewood and Manhattan. This is a full time, Monday through Friday position with required travel into the city 3-4 days a week. Key Responsibilities Greet and check in patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. Schedule appointments and manage the physician’s calendar efficiently. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and assist with patient inquiries. Submit and follow up on prior authorizations for injections and imaging (e.g., MRIs, CT scans). Communicate with insurance companies to ensure timely approvals. Discuss financial responsibilities with patients, including payment policies and estimated costs. Provide detailed explanations of out-of-network billing and assist with superbill preparation for insurance claims. Qualifications 2+ years in medical front office administration, preferably in orthopedics, sports medicine, or a concierge practice. Familiarity with prior authorization processes, out-of-network billing, and sports medicine procedures. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive financial discussions with professionalism and empathy. High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
