Payroll Manager

ProspectBlue is partnering with a growing organization to identify an experienced Payroll Manager to join their finance team in Richmond, VA! This is a senior-level payroll role for someone who thrives on accuracy, compliance, and leading a team — not just processing payroll. What You’ll Be Doing Overseeing end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state or multi-entity workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness Managing and mentoring a small payroll team Owning payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations Partnering with HR on compensation, benefits administration, and workforce reporting Identifying and implementing process improvements across payroll operations Supporting audits and responding to regulatory inquiries as needed 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity Strong working knowledge of payroll systems (ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, or similar) Solid understanding of payroll accounting and general ledger impact Multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; CPP a plus Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
