The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll for multiple client companies across various states and pay frequencies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, client-focused, and enjoys improving processes through automation and technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Process multiple client payrolls daily with accuracy and timeliness
• Review payroll data, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and payroll adjustments
• Audit payroll reports and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll processing
• Respond to client and employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Maintain employee payroll records and process payroll-related changes
• Ensure payroll processes comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a high-volume environment
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, reporting, and AI tools

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll processing experience
• Experience processing payroll for multiple companies or multiple payroll cycles
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing
• Strong knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour requirements, and payroll deductions
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Strong client service and communication skills
• Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with workflow automation, reporting tools, and process improvement
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies
• CPP certification is a plus
