Orthopedic/Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Nights; 7PM to 7AM, weekdays, every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Orthopedic/Medical Surgical RN will provide care to patients who have undergone bone and joint reconstructive surgery, joint replacement, orthopedic trauma surgery, or have experienced sports injuries. The unit features remote telemetry monitoring, and the nursing will operate under a team model.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for individuals aged 18 and older.
• Monitor and administer telemetry as indicated, with a focus on cardiac management.
• Utilize competency in IV start, cardiac drips, and wound care technologies.
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
• Adapt to variable patient ratios and care needs, including nights and weekends.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of RN experience is required, with at least 1 year in a related specialty.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications are preferred.
• WV or Compact RN license required; pending licenses accepted for submission.
• Experience in managing cardiac drips and telemetry patients.
