Staff Accountant (Entry Level)

We are a recruiting agency assisting a client with a confidential search for a Staff Accountant. Our client is seeking a driven, detail-oriented professional to join their small accounting team. Salary Range: $70,000-80,000/year About the Role In this role, you will get hands-on experience with the foundational elements of corporate accounting—from managing cash flow and vendor relationships to assisting with the month-end close. What You'll Do Accounts Payable (AP): Accurately code and enter vendor bills into the accounting system and route them to the appropriate department heads for approval. Cash & Accounts Receivable (AR): Post daily cash activity, apply customer payments accurately, and help monitor bank balances. Communication & Support: Serve as a main point of contact for external vendor and customer emails, resolving discrepancies and answering billing questions professionally. Month-End Close: Assist the accounting team with month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and organizing supporting documentation. Ad-Hoc Projects: Run ad-hoc financial reports, assist with data cleanup, and take on special projects as our client grows. What We’re Looking For Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Experience: Open to recent graduates with strong internship experience, or professionals looking to advance from an AP/AR Clerk, Bookkeeper, or similar operational role. Technical Skills: Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required (e.g., navigating spreadsheets, basic formulas). Experience with the broader Microsoft Office or Google Workspace suite is highly preferred. Problem-Solving Mindset: You enjoy digging into a discrepancy to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. Adaptability: You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift, and you don't mind navigating the "gray areas" when a formal process doesn't exist yet.
