Senior corporate tax accountant

Randstad has partnered with an established, fast-growing industry leader to identify a Senior Tax Manager for a newly created role reporting directly to the Director of Tax. In this high-impact position, you will lead multistate regulatory compliance, oversee corporate tax provisions (ASC 740), and manage specialized indirect taxes across 30+ jurisdictions. The ideal CPA brings a blend of technical expertise and operational leadership to build automated tax systems, optimize internal processes, and drive strategic initiatives that support continuous corporate expansion.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Director of Tax to establish strategic frameworks and scalable workflows that support business expansion.
• Configure enterprise tax software to process high-volume transactions across 30+ state and local jurisdictions.
• Direct and review all federal, state, and local corporate income and franchise tax returns across a multi-state footprint.
• Own quarterly and year-end ASC 740 tax provisions, including deferred tax assets, liabilities, and valuation allowances.
• Recruit, train, and develop tax staff, creating technical career paths in multi-state compliance, specialized energy excise taxes, and software systems.
• Oversee tax balance sheet reconciliations against the general ledger and maintain robust internal controls.
• Support the Director of Tax in minimizing the Effective Tax Rate and conducting scenario modeling for legislative changes, acquisitions, and new entity formations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required (Master's in Taxation or JD preferred), along with an active CPA designation.
• 6+ years of progressive corporate tax experience gained within an established corporate environment or public accounting firm.
• Deep knowledge of corporate tax provisioning (ASC 740) and multi-state corporate nexus laws.
